Jaipur is the capital of a royal state of India called Rajasthan. It is also known as the pink city. In ancient age it was ruled by Rajput kingdoms for many centuries. It is the home to many magnificent palaces, forts and museums as well.

It is one of the largest cities of India with all modern amenities and is having the most exotic hotels and resorts in the world. It is having international airport and is well connected with rail and road with other parts of the country.  It is also famous for its local food and dishes like Pyaaz  Kachori and Dal  Baati Churma, the Ghewar, etc.

How to reach Jaipur

Since people across the world come to visit Jaipur, It’s Sanganer airport is well connected to almost all major cities of India as well as the rest of the world through a number of airlines. It is also well connected by rail and road networks. Indian rail runs a number of trains to reach Jaipur from other parts of India. Best time to visit Jaipur

Since the summer is extremely hot and monsoon is quite hot and humid in Rajasthan. So it is not the right time to visit Jaipur. Winter is the ideal season to visit Jaipur and other parts of Rajasthan because during that time temperature ranges between 8 degree to 32 degree celsius.

Places to visit in Jaipur

There are many tourist spots in Jaipur like Amer Fort, Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal, City Palace Jaipur, Nahargah fort, etc.

Amer Fort

Amer fort is also known as Amber fort. It is 11 Km. away from the city Jaipur. It was built by Maharaja Man Singh in the year 1592.The fort is big enough and was considered as one of the main residences of Rajput rulers. It is one amongst the most popular tourist spots which sees over five thousand visitors everyday. It is included into the UNESCO’s world heritage site list as part of the Hill fort of Rajasthan.

Jantar  Mantar

Jantar  Mantar is the largest stone observatory in the world and is situated near the city palace in Jaipur. It is also included in the UNESCO’s list of World heritage sites. It was built by Raja Sawai Jay Singh in the year 1727-33.The main objective of this building was to study and gather information about space and time. The other thing that makes it unique is the world’s largest sundial which is situated here.

Hawa Mahal

Hawa Mahal  is the other tourist spot in Jaipur which is situated in the main road of the city and was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799.It is made of Pink and Red sandstone and is based on five floors each of which has unique decorated chambers.

City Palace Jaipur

It is also one amongst the most famous tourist attractions of Jaipur. It is situated in the old part of Jaipur city and was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh during 1723-32.It has three gates out of which two the Virenda pol and the Udai pol are opened to the public.

Nahargarh Fort

Nahargarh fort is, one amongst  the most popular tourist attractions of Jaipur. This fort was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the year 1734.In ancient times there were ladies quarters  by the name of Zenana and there was also mardana mahal constructed for the royal men in its complex. In Nahargarh fort there is a Nahargarh biological park, which is the asylum for animals like lions, tigers and the leopards.

Pink city Jaipur

Pink city in Jaipur is declared a UNESCO’s  world heritage site. It refers to the old walled city built by Maharaja Jai Singh II in the year 1727.It is known as Pink city because it is built of sandstone which reflects Pink colour during daytime. This city is covered in the pink colour which attracts tourists from all over the world.

Famous food of Jaipur

Jaipur has a number of options of famous foods. Dal Bati Churma, Missi Roti, Bajre ki Roti, Mirchi bada, Gatte ki sabji, Kadhi are some of them. Some of the desserts like Ghevar, Imrati, Halwa, Churma, Gajak, Moong thal, etc. are also popular.
